Description: DELUXE CUSTOM 1896 Antique WINCHESTER 1894 .30-30 Completely Customized Deluxe Walnut Takedown! Here we present an antique Winchester Model 1894 Takedown Lever Action Rifle in .30-30 WCF, made in 1896 in New Haven, Connecticut. The credit for the design of such a prolific firearm again lies with John Moses Browning, who lent his extensive design talents to a large number of weapon types throughout his career. The Model 1894 was the first Winchester rifle made for use with the new technology of smokeless powder and was developed as a hunting rifle. Over 7.5 million were produced from 1894 until 2006. While various cartridges were supported throughout the run of the gun, the .30-30 Winchester became its staple. In practical use, the Model 1894 became a favorite for general shooters and hunters alike. To this day, it remains a deer hunting favorite, and, in all likelihood, more deer have been taken with the 1894 than any other. This rifle features a 26-inch barrel and was designed to take down easily into two pieces for traveling. This 1894 Takedown Rifle in .30-30 has been completely customized and features a gorgeous deluxe walnut stock, case colored receiver and blued barrel. It is equipped with an adjustable tang-mounted peep sight in addition to the standard buckhorn rear sight mounted on the barrel. The front side has both a fine bead on a post with a hood as well as a quicker, coarser post sight, which is selectable just by pivoting the sight 90 degrees. There are sling mounts set into the bottom of the butt stock and the cap on the fore end. This is a one of a kind rifle. The overall condition is very fine. 99% of the blue finish is intact with bright case colors. The markings are clear. The stock is in very fine shape. The bore is excellent, bright and sharp. The action is excellent, strong and crisp. This Winchester 1894 is the pinnacle of its kind in looks and in function. This would be a delight to hunt and shoot with and easy on the eyes!
