Description:
Produced in a limited quantity of 19,999 in 1983, the Crazy Horse Commemorative Edition Winchester Model 1894 rifle is one of many special editions Winchester has released over the years. The Crazy Horse rifle is unique in its very decorated appearance with brass rivets in the forend and laid out in an arrowhead shape on the stock. The receiver is color case-hardened steel with engravings on either side: one side features a portrait of the famed Lakota chief, a bison skull, and warriors on horseback. The opposite side depicts a bison hunt on horseback. The rifle is fitted with an elevation-adjustable rear sight and front sight with brass bead. The receiver also has a steel saddle ring to match the straight grip stock. This rifle is in very good condition and has likely never been fired. The gun does also include the original packaging—serial matching, albeit in rough condition itself—and all the included paperwork. This is an excellent piece for fans of the Winchester special editions, someone of Oglala/Sioux descent, or a fan of late frontier history. .38-55 Winchester
