Description:
This Winchester 94 Carbine is a John Wayne Commemorative chambered in 32-40 WCF from the early 80's. The action is a large loop lever action, tubular magazine fed rifle. The receiver is engraved pewter plated and pewter plated barrel bands. Markings on the left side of barrel are; "WINCHESTER MODEL 94 32-40 WIN. / MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL". The top of the barrel is marked with a "WP" proof, the right is marked "JOHN WAYNE COMMEMORATIVE". The underside of the receiver is marked with the serial number "JW 6849". The sides of the receiver are scroll engraved and with scenes from his films. The title of his western movie; The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance and True Grit are engraved along the border. John Wayne's signature is engraved on the upper tang. There is a medallion featuring Wayne with his name above inset into the right side of the buttstock. The front sight is a blade dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is an adjustable semi buckhorn "U" notch dovetailed to the rear of the barrel. The left side of the receiver is drilled, tapped in two places for a receiver sight. The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut, straight grip, straight comb and steel carbine-style buttplate. Comes with matching factory box, manual, and leather thong. This gun is in excellent condition and may have been shot a time or two. .32-40 Winchester
