//EARLY 4 DIGIT// Winchester 9422. Serial # 3xxx puts this in the first month of manufacture. This 9422 comes from my personal collection and is in 99+% condition with no box. What adds to the desirability of this early model is that it was manufactured with a stainless magazine tube. It is my understanding very few were manufacured with the stainless tube, one month?, before Winchester switched to the brass version.

The fit and finish on the early ones, well, if you collect them i can leave it at that....
