EARLY 2nd model WINCHESTER 1890 22 SHORT NICKEL PLATE
Description:
This is an interesting model 1890 that is concidered a 2nd varation, with the hidden locking lugs. This gun is early enough to have the 24 3/8" barrel, which the super rare 1st models had. This gun was built in 1897, and qualifies as a true antique, which can be sent directly to your residence. The bore is dark with decent rifling present, and shootable. The most interesting thing is the factory nickel plated receiver, which retains around 40%. The receiver has loss of finish, but is not pitted, and would make a good candidate for restoration. This gun functions as it should, and locks up tightly (the best 2nd model I have encountered for tightness). The walnut stocks are in very good shape, with a dry crack at the heel, that is not lined up with the butt plate screw. The script on the metal is very good for the age, and may clean up nicely, and make a good shooter. $ 895.00 Shipped and Insured to the lower 48 states by PMO or other Certified Funds. Dan at (608) 751-7194. Thanks for your interest.
