Winchester Model 06
(1924)
Description:
Up for sale is a decent little model 06 Winchester that chambers the 22 cal. S, L, LR cartridges interchangeably. This is a nice tight survivor, that appears to have had a coat of varnish applied to the stocks at some point. This example wirth S/N 610445 was built in, or arround 1924. Other then the added finish, the gun looks all original, showing a history of fun times in the field. There are numerous small marks in the stock, but no cracks or repairs, the wood fits proud to the metal surfaces, as well as the original butt plate. Most of the blue has worn off over the years, but it appears that the gun was wiped down and stored well, as there is minimal corrosion and only a few spots of minor pitting. The metal has never been restored, as indicated by the strong script and proof marks. The gun takes down and reassembles nice and tight, as it should, has its' original sight package, and an excellent bore in the 20" barrel.
