Guns that are nearly 60 yrs old do just not get any better than this with respec to condtion.; blue (Winchester blueing was exceptional during this period on 100's and 88's) is approx perfect and stock nearly so...with only one or perhaps 2 minor marks from storage in safe.
These guns are known for uncommon accuracy for an auto loader and are thought by some experts to be the finest semi auto deer rifles ever.. This one in sought after soft recoiling but very capable 243 would make a terrific lst gun, a gun for a lady or youth.
It comes with an inexpensive but funcitonal period correct imported scope (we have many fine used Leupolds, Redfields and others should the buyer want to upgrade
We are of the opinon that in thickly wooded North East where we are located, Upper Midwest and parts of the South that a semi auto can't be improved upon as a deer gun; in the event you're lst shot did not kill the animal outright the semi auto allows one to follow, track and make fast follow up shots to prevent lost or wounded animals.
