VERY EARLY FIRST YEAR OF PRODUCTION MODEL 1910 .401 WSL AUTO RIFLE, #1XXX, MADE 1910
Description: VERY EARLY FIRST YEAR OF PRODUCTION MODEL 1910 .401 WSL AUTO RIFLE, #1XXX, MADE 1910. This was the least produced of the semi-auto line consisting of the Models 1905; 1907 and 1910. Made from 1910 until production ceased in 1932 with only a bit over 20,000 made. The .401 Self Loading cartridge was the most powerful of the lot. This is an excellent example that retains nearly all the blue on the receiver with the lightest of edge wear and one small scuff on the receiver top. The barrel also retains most of the blue with only light thinning. Correcct .401 Cal. marked magazine. Fitted with a Lyman tang sight, a filler in the rear sight dovetail and a small Winchester blade front sight. Excellent butt stock with correct Winchestere embossed hard rubber butt plate (these often replaced on this model with a recoil pad) and fine forearm that has a hairline crack running down the left side- looks like a scratch in the finish, but is a crack. Minty bright bore, safety functions correctly, tight takedown. and matching numbers. Hard to find this early and this nice.
