Custom Winchester 1885 High-Wall Target Rifle in .38-70 WCF w/ Set Trigger

Serial #86128, .38-70 WCF, 34" heavy octagon barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome rifle, built on a 1900-built High Wall action, and has a streaked, smooth dark gray patina along the barrel with thin silvering at the muzzle, as well as along the barrel facets, and a single rough patch of metal on the right side at the forward scope block. The receiver, breechblock, hammer, lever, and trigger have 97-98% of a newer, added blue finish remaining. The smooth forend and straight-wrist buttstock are nicely grained walnut, with only a few minor handling marks and small surface blemishes scattered about the otherwise excellent varnish finish. The rifle is equipped with a modern globe front sight with lollipop reticle and scope blocks, and Winchester set trigger that works well. There is no rear sight installed (although there are vacant screw holes in the top tang). The action is fully functional and the rifle weighs 12 3/4 lbs. This is a nicely made High Wall-actioned target rifle that rates fine condition overall. FFL or C&R;
