Description:
the Winchester 1885 was John Moaes Browning's first commercially successful design and was the first in his 20 year long partnership with Winchester. The rifle was initially introduced as Winchester's addition to the then popular "Creedmore" long range marksmanship matches and immediately excelled in them, with Major Ned H. Roberts describing the rifle as "the most reliable, strongest, and altogether best single shot rifle ever produced.". This example of the 1885 "Low Wall" manufactured in 1897 is in exceptional condition with very little wear to its original bluing and still showing quite a bit of its original case hardening. Its 28 inch barrel chambered in .25-20SS still has an exceptional bore and all of the internals still feel clean and crisp. The rifle comes with one hundred pieces of brass.
