Winchester High Wall Model 1885 .219 Zipper-Improved 1-Piece Stock
Description:
This Listing from a Family Collection of Shooting Sports Enthusiasts is a Winchester High-Wall 1885 Rifle with an Unusual, One-Piece, Custom, Pistol-Grip, Target Stock and 30¾ - Inch (approximate) Heavy Barrel with Recessed Crown in .219 Improved / .219 Zipper Improved Caliber. The action has been polished and blued, leaving the breechblock, hammer and trigger with what appear to be their original finish. Two Standard 3/8-Inch Dovetail Bases are attached to the Barrel – and a Single Barrel Band is held by one of the Front Sling Swivel Screws. There is no rear swivel. Owing to its small bore, the rifling is difficult to photograph – but appears sharp and functional to the naked eye under flashlight illumination. Apart from the Patent Date on the lower tang, the visible portion of the receiver is unmarked with No Visible Serial Number. Wood appears to be Dark Straight-Grained Walnut with a Separate (Glued and Pegged) Rollover Cheekpiece; there’s a “Trustworthy” brand Recoil Pad with Aluminum and Black Spacers. Wood to metal fit and other condition features are best judged from the photos – so please ask any questions or request additional information before purchase as this item will be costly to return owing to CA re-registration and other regulations. Any refunds will be minus our actual shipping cost and FFL fees after buyer pays return shipping. The listed price Includes Insured Ground Shipping from a CA FFL Dealer to yours. Payment is by Money Order, Bank (Certified) Check or Personal Check (held 2-3 days). We are the Estate Executor and Trustee, not a dealer, and cannot handle credit card or electronic payments. This item is subject to prior sale.
