Here Ancestry Guns presents a Winchester Model 70 Lever Action Rifle in the scarce chambering of 6.5x55 Swede, manufactured in New Haven, Connecticut in 1983. In 1936, Winchester introduced the Model 70 bolt-action rifle to the American market. The Model 70 was largely based on the Model 54 and is today still highly regarded by shooters and is often called "The Rifleman's Rifle". In 1999 Shooting Times magazine named the Model 70 the "Bolt-action Rifle of the Century".
This one comes with its original box and paperwork as shown. It is mounted with a Bushnell Sportview 3-9 power scope. Jeweled bolt. Also comes with the original barrel mounted sights.
Overall condition is fine. Used very little, if at all. The action is excellent. The bore is shiny bright with sharp rifling. The stock is smooth and solid with nice checkering. Clear optics. A great rifle that is ready for the field!
