c1910 WINCHESTER Model 1894 Lever Action .38-55 WCF C&R Saddle Ring CARBINE
With Compass Embedded in the Comb of the Stock
Description: c1910 WINCHESTER Model 1894 Lever Action .38-55 WCF C&R Saddle Ring CARBINE With Compass Embedded in the Comb of the Stock Here we present a C&R Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Rifle, made in 1910 in New Haven, Connecticut. The credit for the design of such a prolific firearm again lies with John Moses Browning, who lent his extensive design talents to a large number of weapon types throughout his career. The Model 1894 was the first Winchester rifle made for use with the new technology of smokeless powder and was developed as a hunting rifle. Over 7.5 million were produced from 1894 until 2006. This one is chambered in the original Winchester 1894 cartridge, the .38-55 WCF. While various cartridges were supported throughout the run of the gun, the .30-30 Winchester became its staple. The .32 Winchester Special came in 1901. Both the .30-30 and .32 WS were simply necked down .38-55. In practical use, the Model 1894 became a favorite for general shooters and hunters alike. To this day, it remains a deer hunting favorite, and, in all likelihood, more deer have been taken with the 1894 than any other. The overall condition is fine. This carbine is very nicely re-blued. Excellent action. Bright, rifled bore. Beautiful, solid walnut stock with a compass mounted atop the comb. Sharp markings. A great gun with a compass to give the remote hunter a bit of a hint for direction. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 20 inches. Caliber: .38-55 Winchester Center Fire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $2185 #210518 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
