The Winchester® Model 70 is the bolt-action rifle that all others are compared to. This model features a synthetic stock with a rubber recoil pad. This Model 70 has a push feed action. A 3-position safety allows the shooter to load or unload the Model 70 with the safety engaged in the mid position. The bolt is locked down with the safety fully to the rear, where it is extremely unlikely to accidentally get knocked to the fire position when carrying the rifle in rugged terrain.
