This is a custom toothpick style Boot Knife or Dagger made by John Nelson Cooper of Tremont PA. Famous for his patented bonded hilt Cooper Knives have developed a loyal following since 1924 when he began making them for towns people of Tremont, PA. The knife measures 9 3/4" overall with a 5 1/2" double edge carbon steel blade. The blade remains unsharpened and bright with Cooper eagle maker mark on the obverse ricasso. The double guard and pommel have a tarnished brass patina and commando shaped black micarta handle with gold and black spacer center remains in excellent condition. Included is a black leather sheath with double snap handle strap marked “COOPER" on the back belt loop showing a few light handling marks. A very collectible and sought after knife.
