Used 1903 Colt SAA .45
Description:
Here is an interesting horse pistol. This Colt SAA was born in 1903. All matching numbers on backstrap, frame and trigger guard. You can see what looks to me like faded Colt case colors, and if you look closely at the left side of the frame below the cylinder, no patent dates! You can see the case colors on that flat section, and there is no dishing of the steel to indicate it may have been removed. The answer is- patent dates were never stamped! Unusual certainly, but not unheard of. We think the barrel was replaced and likely the cylinder and hammer as well. We believe that the gun was returned to Colt for a rework in the late 50's or early 60's, based on the markings on the barrel and cylinder, which both appear to be replacement parts. Grips are in good shape, but not factory original, and a mite proud almost all of the way around on both sides. The bore is excellent. This pistol would make a great shooter and is priced to sell! $35 shipping to the lower 48, 3% surcharge for using a CC. If you choose to pay with a personal check, we will hold the item for up to 10 days to make sure that it clears. Please expedite such pymts as we will hold an item on your word for 5 days.
