Henry Atkin Raleigh Model Sidelock ~ 6 lbs. 7 oz. and perfectly balanced
Description:
Hammerless Sidelocks - This fine Atkin dates from
1902 only the beginning of the Edwardian era where driven shooting became the rage of the elite. It was during this period the London gunmakers competed to produce some of the finest shotguns ever built. Their craftsmanship obviously shows in our example. Henry Atkin Sr. worked for Purdey\'s from 1814 for over 50 years and the younger apprenticed with them for 10 to then open his own shop in 1877. His guns often said on the rib "formerly of James Purdey."
*This gun features chopperlump barrels that lock up tight to the breech. This will make someone a great upland gun. *** Note: To see this gun with high resolution photos and a zoom-in feature, go to the vintagedoubles main site and search for the gun ID: 5266 or browse the main site to see our full gun collection.
