Remington SXS Lifter Action; Model 1875; 12ga
Description: This is a very early lifter action Model 1875 as evidenced by the recessed hammers and rebounding locks. Made on patents by Andrew Whitmore, the Model 1875 "Lifter Action" had a top lever that pushed up and forward rather than turning sideways. It is a grade 2 with London Twist barrels, 2 ¾” chambers, and checkered straight hand stock. It is in very good antique condition and would make a nice shooter or wall hanger. The top push-up opening lever makes it a very unusual looking gun. It looks to have been shot very little. The action is clean. The case colors have drifted brown, but the top lever remains a bright blue. The 30” fine Twist barrels have good pattern, and the bores are good. The length of pull to the original steel butt plate is 14”. Drop at comb 1 ½’, and at hell 2 ¾”. The straight English style stock has sharp original checkering but it has been broken at the head an glued back. The repair remains solid after having been shot. But the checkering at the wrist has some glue in it. SOLD Antique: Yes Shotgun Gauge: 12 Gauge Manufacturer: E.
