H. Nock, London. An interesting, spuriously signed, silver mounted, 24-bore double-barreled, flintlock Sporting Gun, ca. 1822. Wt. 6 ½ Lbs. Stock Dimensions: 14 ½ “x 1 ¼ “x 2”x ½ “ cast-off. 30 ¼ “ re-browned barrels, likely shortened a fraction of an inch, with fair bores and good thick walls at the muzzle. Beautiful, engraved silver mounts with Birmingham hallmarks for 1822. Stunning Birdseye Maple stock showing little wear. Overall, a lovely, mechanically perfect restoration, possibly also a re-conversion to flintlock which was spuriously signed H. Nock. Still and all, quite a nice gun.
