An interesting 12ga double hammer shotgun by a famous Boston Maker Wm Read & Son, and they made guns pre-Civil War up to 1900. The Damascus barrels are 30" amnd the chokes are a very tight Full and Full.. The hammers work well and the left hammer goes to full cock before the right hammer. The nipples are there with the left one flattemned some what. The walnut stock is good with sharp checkering, and LOP is about 14 1/2" Comes with an old hardwood ram-rod. The furniture is German silver that has been engraved with scroll designs, and the lockplates are easkily read. Overall good looking. Bores are corroded with powder residue.
