Quality Miquelet Percussion Fowler

Description:

With a 14 bore,and a  35” barrel with a moderately oxidized bore. The metal surfaces of this Patilla-lock fowler are mostly a mix of deep gunmetal and plum-brown patina with scattered areas of light to perhaps moderate pitting. There are some fancy tarnished silver inlays around the breech and a maker’s touchmark that is difficult to discern, the barrel also inlaid in silver with “En Eybar”. The lockplate and triggerguard are both inscribed with the town name “Aranguren” and the lock is quite nicely made with dog’s head hammer with fancy chiseled accents and nicely sculpted bridle. The checkered walnut halfstock remains in very good condition with scattered light scuffs, dings and a thin 5 1/2” crack along the underside of forend, abiut unoticable. A hickory ramrod is present and the arm is sighted with a silver blade front sight flanked by a silver inlaid arrow. The lock seems to function normally. A rather nice quality Spanish fowler.
