Antique Single Shot MASSACHUSETTS ARMS MAYNARD Model 1873 Shotgun 20 Gauge
Versatile Single Shot from the 1870s
Description: Antique Single Shot MASSACHUSETTS ARMS MAYNARD Model 1873 Shotgun 20 Gauge Versatile Single Shot from the 1870s Here we present an antique Massachusetts Arms Company Single Shot Maynard Model 1873 Fowling Piece, made by the Massachusetts Arms Co. of Chicopee Falls, Mass. Maynard Patent Single Shot rifles were manufactured from 1863 to 1890. The Model 1873 was the first Maynard with standard chambering for centerfire metallic cartridges. These rifles are very similar in appearance to the percussion model, with a slightly offset hammer and a firing pin contained within the bolster on the recoil shield in place of the percussion nipple. Many of these came with multiple barrels so the user could have one firearm to use as a rifle for several different cartridges as well as shotgun gauges. The overall condition is very good. Original finish and patina. Excellent action. Part of the hammer spur was chipped long ago and was rubbed smooth with continual use. The bore is smooth and in great shape. A wonderful checkering pattern adorns the wrist. Solid stock throughout. Legible markings. “1873” dated frame. This one also has a very neat peep sight on the tang that sometimes came on these. A neat piece! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 26 inches. Caliber: 20 gauge Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail!
