Looking to sell a RARE J.B. Ronge Fils A Liege 16GA Engraved SxS Double Barrel Shotgun. This GORGEOUS shotgun is in used condition and features 29 5/8" barrels chambered in (65mm) 2 1/2", two triggers, checkered walnut stock / forend, steel bead front and mid sights, original butt plate and grip cap both appear to be made out of some type of horn. Both barrels are marked "17.0 168" which is (not sure on choke size), although according to my research, I think they are both equal to "Light Full" fixed chokes. The (16-65) at the end of the barrel represent 16 gauge, 65mm chamber - you need a 70mm chamber to safely shoot modern day shells. DO NOT consider shooting this until you have the information verified by a good gunsmith that knows shotguns and how to read proof marks. Serial #65888 and proof code "italic ( i )" - dates it to1930. OAL - 46", LOP 1st trigger 14.5", LOP 2nd trigger 13.5"
There is a small ding on the barrel on the left side, where it must have hit something, but does not effect the internals as both bores appear to be clean and rust free. The detailed oakleaf engraving with gold inlays is a work of art and speaks for itself. This shotgun retains 95% of its bluing on the barrels. The wood has some light dings and scratches, but no cracks. ALL original matching numbers and proper...this shotgun is a must-have for any collector or gun enthusiast.
