J.P. CLABROUGH & BROS. 10GA. HIGH HAMMER 31" DAMASCUS BACK ACTION SHOTGUN, CIRCA 1872.
Description:
J.P. CLABROUGH & BROS. 10GA. HIGH HAMMER 31" DAMASCUS BACK ACTION SHOTGUN, CIRCA 1872. Antique. Serial number "147" and all matching. 31" damascus barrel with London address. Correct proofs under barrel. Back action island locks with crisp factory engraving never having been refinished with traces of original case colors on both locks. Same on both original high hammers(matching). Round body action locks up tight as day it was made with NO play in action. Very little used at all. Original wood with no structural anomolies and crisp original checkering and stock finish. Original steel buttplate and pistol grip cap(typical of American export style). Shield shaped escutcheon plate un-engraved. As you can see from photos not too much drop either so with comb pad may be able to be shot in vintagers events. Bores excellent for one of these and again testiment to it's little used condition. 15" length of pull. My Galazan choke finder says approx IC/IC so not cylinder as I would assume in this time frame.
