Beautiful 10ga hammer gun by W.Richards.This gun has 315/8" barrels marked "laminated steel".The bores are bright and free of dents,rust,or pits.The barrels are on face and lock up very tightly using Purdey style double underbites and a dolls head extension.The barrel wall thickness averages over .055".The gun has a pistol grip stock with an engraved steel grip cap.The receiver is game scene engraved and retains traces of the original case colors.The barrels retain at least 90% of the damascus pattern and are very nice looking.The gun weighs 10 lbs,but balances so well that it feels lighter.The wood is very sound with no cracks,gouges,or damage.This gun was built in the late 1880s and is in remarkable condition for its age.A very strong well balanced gun that would be fine for ducks,turkeys,or vintage shoots.Built before 1898,so it can be shipped direct.
