It was comprised of Horace Smith and D.B. Wesson of Smith & Wesson, Frank Wesson of Worcester, and J.W. Stoors of New York. D.B. Wesson wanted to make shotguns based on his own design. The company inhabited a section of the Smith & Wesson factory in Springfield, MA, and manufactured various breech loading and double barrel shotguns. There were no sales until late 1869. The guns were expensive for the time period, retailing between $175-$250. The company dissolved in 1871 after producing slightly over 225 shotguns.
