This Scottish flintlock shotgun was built between 1815-20 by John Thomson of Edinburgh. "John Thomson/Edinboro" on the locks and "Makers to His Majesty, Princes Street, Edinboro" on the rib and has platinum "JOHN/THOMSON/PATENT" and "crown" marked hallmarks on the breech plugs. The Birmingham proofed barrels, breech plugs, and breech hooks all have the matching serial number. The breeches have platinum-lined vents and bands. locks have waterproof pans, The furniture is also engraved with world class image and scroll patterns.
