Description: Rare Original John Manton, double-barreled, flintlock Sporting Gun Case that accompanied Gun #7043 when it left Manton's premesis in 1819. The case had a minor alteration at a later date to accomodate the hammer spurs on a percussion gun and that small cut-out was later repaired back to the original flintlock configuration. The case lining and trade label are original and overall condition of the case is exceptionally fine. Suitable for up to 32" barrels, 14 to16-bore or smaller. I have owned this case for many years and used it to store my personal ACCESSORIES which DO NOT come with the case!!
