BEAUTIFULLY ENGRAVED WILKENSON & SON SINGLE BARREL 20 GAUGE PERCUSSION SHOTGUN
Description:
It's referred to as the "club butt". Very unusual dimensions to the stock. This shotgun is identified as being the personal firearm of the Earl of Ashburnham. The coronet over a tree on the upper tang is based on a crest of the Earl of Ashburnham. It has some interesting features. The 27 inch barrel has about 3 inches of octagon barrel and then reduced to 5-1/2 inches of 16 sides and then to a round barrel. Beautifully engraved with delicate scrolls. Wood is also handsome with deluxe circassian walnut and nicely checkered wrist. Mechanics are excellent. You need to see this one to appreciate it.
