STOCKHOLM SWEDEN Antique Metzger Marked PERCUSSION SINGLE BARREL Hammer Shotgun
1740s through 1840s Chain of Ownership!
Description: STOCKHOLM SWEDEN Antique Metzger Marked PERCUSSION SINGLE BARREL Hammer Shotgun 1740s through 1840s Chain of Ownership! Here we present an antique M. Metzger Marked Percussion Shotgun, made sometime in the mid-19th Century in Stockholm, Sweden. This gun is likely from the lineage of Johan Michael Metzger, born in 1697 and died in 1776, who was a member of a noted Stockholm gunsmithing family active from the late 1600s through the mid-1800s. This shotgun was made in Stockholm, Sweden sometime around the 1840s or 50s. The overall condition is good. “M. Metzger/Stockholm” is marked on the lock. The placard atop the hand checkered wrist appears to read “OLOF MALMER/1740/ O.Malmer feldt /1772/OLLE/1842”, which may indeed be a chain of ownership. This idea is supported by the percussion conversion and it was probably used even later than the 1840s. Stable stock despite a small crack near the side plate. The bore is in good shape. The hammer is mobile and under good spring tension but it does not hold the cocked position. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrels: 34 inches. Caliber: .69 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1175 #201881 SOLD Antique: Yes |
