Arrieta model 578 round action side-lock 28 gauge SxS shotgun.
Made in 2007 this very attractive 578 has 28" barrel with a narrow swamped solid rib and choked IC/ Mod and measure .006" & .010". Both bores are .550", as they should be!
The handsomely grained straight grip butt stock has a 14 5/8" LOP to the checkered butt; 1 1/2" DAC and 2 3/8" DAH with right hand cast of 3/8" at the heel and 1/2" at the toe. Up front is a matching splinter forearm with an Anson style button release. The wood finish is 98% but...there are two fairly noticeable, shallow scratches on the right side of the stock.
The fully engraved side-lock, round body action retians 98% case colors with some slight edge wear. The barrel blue is dark and shows no wear but there are some areas on top of the barrels by the inscriptions that look "splotchy"! I had my metal finish guys look at it and the "splotches" have been there since the left the factory in 2007! Not rust or pitting, just benign splotches!!
Mechanically excellent. Double triggers with the front trigger articulated. Automatic ejectors. Automatic safety. Cocking indicators.
Weighs a scant: 5 lbs. 15 oz. (electronically weighed)
