Offered up for sale is a 16ga AYA (Aguirre y Aranzabal) model No. 4/53 Side by Side with 29-inch barrels, in near new condition. This AYA was manufactured in 2007 and has serial number 148-07. The model No. 4/53 is similar to the Model No. 4 with upgraded wood and is modeled on a Westley Richards boxlock action. This side by side is a hammerless boxlock ejector shotgun, featuring a double locking mechanism with a replaceable hinge pin. The “old silver” receiver retains 100% of its hand scroll engraving and is in perfect mechanical condition with automatic safety, strong well-timed ejectors and crisp double triggers. The 29-inch chopper lump barrels feature a concave rib and a steel front bead site and are choked IC/MOD (Improved Cylinder and Modified). The bores are excellent, and the 16ga chambering is known to be deadly on most upland game birds. The straight, hand oil finished, Turkish walnut stock with an initial oval and splinter forearm are finely checkered and are in near original condition. This Side by Side weighs in at 6 lbs 10 oz with a LOP of 14 7/8 inches and a DAC and DAH of 1 1/2 inches and 2 7/16 inches, respectively.
