Description:
Offered for sale is an outstanding AYA No. 2 side-by-side shotgun in desirable .410 bore, manufactured in 1999 and accompanied by its original box. Representing one of Spain's finest traditional sidelock doubles, this shotgun combines elegant styling, superb craftsmanship, and excellent mechanical condition in one of the most sought-after small-bore configurations.
The 27-inch blued barrels are joined by a solid rib and retain bright, shiny smooth bores. A silver front bead provides a classic sighting arrangement, while automatic ejectors ensure rapid unloading after firing. The fully floral engraved, color case-hardened sidelock receiver and side plates display exceptional craftsmanship and traditional styling. Complementing the vivid case colors is the attractive blued side plate lock lever, providing a striking contrast that highlights the fine detailing of the gun.
The shotgun is fitted with a handsome straight-wrist walnut stock and matching forearm. The checkering remains distinct and sharp throughout, providing both visual appeal and a secure grip. In keeping with traditional British game-gun styling, the buttstock terminates in a checkered butt rather than a recoil pad, preserving the shotgun's elegant lines. Additional refinement is evident in the dual-trigger arrangement and engraved trigger guard.
Mechanically, the shotgun is excellent. The action opens and closes properly, functions exactly as intended, and exhibits the tight lock-up expected of a quality sidelock double.
