Made in 1965 this AyA Model 51 sidelock ejector has 28” barrels with 2-3/4” chambers and is open choked making it a deadly and sweet handling upland double. Perfect for grouse, woodcock and quail. *** AyA Model 51’s are pretty hard to find. They combine the hidden third fastener of a Model 53 with engraving similar to an AyA No. 2. The frame is beautifully case colored and has hand detachable sidelocks. The double triggers have a front articulated trigger with a rolled edge trigger guard. All hallmarks of a high grade gun. Weight is 6lb 9oz *** Bluing on the barrels is very good with just a few small scratches from normal usage. It has a raised solid cross hatched rib. The right barrel has a constriction of 0.002 for a Skeet choke. The left barrel has a constriction of 0.006 for Improved Cylinder choke. *** The straight grip stock is nicely figured and has a splinter forearm. Stock dimensions are 1-3/8” by 2” by 15-1/4” over a 5/8” leather pad. There is some wear on the leather pad. Cast off for right hand shooter. *** This is a great handling upland gun --- not too light to be whippy – just the right heft to be a lethal weapon for the skilled upland hunter. *** I am an FFL and will need a signed copy of your dealer’s FFL license.
