AYA #XXV
Discounted $
With Full Engraving, Perfect Wood & Beautiful Case Color Metal
Description:
Deeply discounted lightweight and lively bird gun carries like a 20 gauge at 6 1/4 lbs, but hits like a normal 12 gauge. The configuration has modeled the Winchester 21 double with single selective trigger, ejectors, pistol grip, handy 25" barrels and the special raised, narrow Churchill rib. The big difference here is the full coverage engraving on the #XXV that you rarely see on a Model 21, or on other AYA boxlocks for that matter. Only on the much more expensive AYA Model 4 Deluxe can you get this same engraving. The standard AYA Models 4 and 4/53 offer only a fraction of the engraving found on the AYA #XXV. This combination of features was a favorite of Jack O'Connor's AYA doubles in the 60's and 70's for upland bird shooting. The receiver case colors are factory original at 98%. The hand-rubbed oil finished wood is perfect with no scratches, cracks or dents of any kind. Very nice contrast in the grain on both sides and forearm. The bluing is deep color with minor handling marks and blems back from the muzzle. The bores are very bright and shiny choked improved cylinder and light modified (English 1/4 choke). Stock is 14" over the pad, with 1 1/2 DAC and 2 1/8 DAH with very slight cast off. The splinter forearm has the Anson release. The checkering shows very little wear on the stock or forearm. The AYA is gold inlaid on the rib as is the S above the safety slide. At the far-below price on this gun, it may be the best buy in a side by side double anywhere. Most Model XXV's price far above this one, and maybe not in this fine condition. I am pricing this gun to sell at $1,965.00. Buyer covers shipping and insurance.
