The S3 EELL is built on a true sidelock action with gold-washed internals, a single non-selective gold trigger, double locking cross-bolt, ejectors, and non-auto safety. The entire action is covered in finely executed game scenes framed by flowing ribbon and floral scrollwork. The left side features three pheasants erupting from a woodline; the right shows three woodcock over a field; the bottom displays a fox holding a rabbit, all surrounded by lavish engraving. Scrollwork continues over the trigger guard with the serial number engraved on the extended tang, and both barrel fences are adorned with roosted pheasants. The pierced and engraved top lever is crowned with an inlaid gold crown. Greco’s signature appears just beside the trigger guard, confirming the artistry. The 28-inch solid mid-rib barrels are choked Modified and Full, with a hand-matted rib and ivory-like front bead. The barrels retain nearly all of their original finish. Mechanically, the gun is excellent, with crisp trigger pulls, strong timed ejectors, smooth operation, and tight lockup. The bores are clear. The exhibition-grade walnut stock and target forend are beautifully figured, with fine sharp checkering and a right-hand palm swell. The length of pull measures 15 inches to a checkered butt. This 1973 S3 EELL represents Beretta at its finest—engraving by Greco, one of their most respected masters, paired with a superbly finished sidelock platform. A true collector’s and shooter’s piece.
