Beretta 687 20 Gauge, 28 Gauge – 2 TRIGGERS!, FACTORY DELUXE WOOD, vintage firearms inc
Description: General Specs: Beretta, Year 2002, 20ga; 28ga, 5lbs 15oz; 6lb 1oz, Chokes screw ins, LOP 15 3/8", DAH 2 7/16", DAC 1 1/2" Serial Number: P20390B One of the hardest guns to find here in the States is a two-trigger over/under upland game gun. Most all the over/under guns produced for the American market are single trigger guns. Those who have had the pleasure of using two trigger guns and having the instant choice of chokes when a bird flushes either near or far understand how smart it is and just can’t find one to buy. Well, here we have a custom-ordered Beretta 687 with many special features that are not easy to find in the marketplace. This gun, snP20390B built in 2002, was built with hard to find double triggers, a hard to find English style stock with factory EELL grade exhibition Turkish walnut with a hand-rubbed oil finish, and ordered as a two-barrel set including 28” barrels in 20ga. and 26 ½” barrels in 28ga… a $2000 option. Both barrel sets have there own EELL grade forearms and screw-in chokes; 6 for the 20ga. and 2 for the 28ga. Beretta screw-in chokes give this gun full versatility and additional chokes are readily obtainable. The beautifully figured buttstock has a 15 3/8” LOP and terminates in a gorgeous Purdey style leather covered pad. The LOP from the rear trigger is 14 ½”, so if you are accustomed to measuring the LOP on your guns from the single trigger in the rear position the wood would have a LOP of 14 ½”. Hope this is not too confusing??? The gun weighs in at 6lbs. with either barrel set and balances right at the hinge pin…a wonderful handling gun that won’t wear you out as you pursue your favorite upland game in tall grass or heavy cover. The 20ga. set of barrels have 3” chambers so this two-gauge, two-barrel set is extremely versatile, able to take late season pheasants or waterfowl at long distances with the 20ga. magnums, or close, easy-to-kill game with your 28ga. set. The gun has seen very light field use. Both sets of barrels have 99% blue, the action and trigger guard have 99% French Grey, and the wood has only a few light marks in it with no wear otherwise. The gun is cased in a Beretta case. The action is tight as new on the hinge and breech face. The mechanics are perfect, with crisp trigger pulls and strong well-timed ejectors. We can alter the LOP if you need. Useful, stunningly beautiful, and a rare configuration, this gun is priced affordably and will not last long, so don’t hesitate to buy this 2-trigger over/under!
