L. Santina Bernardelli 12 bore sidelock shotgun manufactured in 1968 with 25" Boehler Steel (Austrian) F/IM ejector barrels. Chambers are 2 3/4" with long forcing cones. Bores are excellent measuring .726 right and left. Choked .028(IM) right and .039(F) left. Solid file cut rib tapered from 9mm to 4mm with brass front bead. Nine pin bar bar action sidelock receiver with French Gray finish and 85% coverage handcut floral and scroll engraving. Cocking indicators. Bushed strikers. Ejectors are strong and timed. Double triggers with the front articulated. Stocked in the English style in highly figured European Walnut with ebony inlay receiver drop points. Splinter forend with push button Anson release. LOP is 13 7/8" to a hard factory buttplate. Would go 14 7/8 with a 1" pad. DAC - 1 1/2" DAH - 2 1/8" Neutral cast. 6 lb 14 oz Santina Bernardelli is the best of the handful of Italian Bernardelli gunmakers although infrequently seen in the U.S. This is a high quality piece. The action is very tight with the top lever to the right of center. It appears to have been carried more than shot. Barrels ring true. Stock finish is at 95% with scattered dents and dings. Blue at 96% Just a very classy and quality piece with nicely figured wood and great eye appeal on a true sidelock action. A much better piece than the Spanish sidelocks on the market.
