Bertuzzi Venere SLE 16 Gauge - DASSA ENGRAVED, 2 BARREL SET, CASED
Description: Bertuzzi Venere SLE 16 Gauge Side by Side DASSA ENGRAVED, 2 BARREL SET, CASED General Specs: Bertuzzi, Year 1995, 16 Gauge, 5lbs 15oz, Side-by-Side Serial Number: 6009 The Bertuzzi brothers learned gun making from their father and his father before him. Making only 10-15 guns a year, mostly by hand, each one is a work of art and amongst the very best shotguns the world has ever seen. That is not my opinion, but that of almost every gun guru the world over. Every detail screams "BEST GUN!!!", with the finest mechanics, aesthetics, and handling dynamics to bring you true one-of-a-kind perfection in a useable work of art. The Bertuzzi brothers went out on their own in 1976 after the death of their grandfather, and made guns into approximately 2008 when they closed up shop. Of course, with so few made overall, and the world wide respect for their work, the guns have become very valuable, usable works of art. This gun, serial number 6009 built in 1995, is no exception. The Venere is considered to be amongst the finest, Holland & Holland style side lock ejector shotguns ever created. All internal parts are highly polished and precisely fit for the utmost of reliability and durability. Both 28" barrel sets are the finest steel, chopper lump barrels available. It has special order engraving by Dassa as you will see in the photos soon. The depth and shading of the foliate style scroll is impressive, and the bulino game scenes and background landscape is amazing. The gun weighs 5lbs. 15 ounces with barrel set #1, 6lbs with barrel set 2 and the balance point is on the hinge pin with set number two, 1/8" behind the hinge pin with set number 1. The gun shows as new, with no visible wear anywhere and only one light mark on the buttstock. The mark is the slightest impression that cannot be seen at all unless you hold the gun to the light just right, likely made by a button on a jacket. When I say you can't see it, that is because it is so slight. The exhibition Turkish walnut stocks are fitted to the action with perfection, nicely figured, checkered 28 lines per inch, beautiful heel and toe plates, Details like the articulated front trigger, drop points on the stock, beaded fences, stocked to the fences, sculpted frame, file cut rib, removable striker discs, etc. are all BEST GUN features. A great investment quality shotgun, with no more ever to be produced, this is a gun that will stun every new looker. Dassa's work will be highly sought after for decades to come and then some. Maker's case included and is a very high quality case with near perfect interior, brass corner plates, and extra reinforced handle. Measurements are as follows: Barrels- -Set #1---28", bore diameter .669 right, .671 left; choke constriction .006 right (SK), .011 left (IC+); minimum barrel wall thickness 27 thou right, 32 thou left -Set #2---28", bore diameter .669 right, .668 left; choke constriction .009 right (IC), .015 left (LM); minimum barrel wall thickness 31 thou both barrels -ribs tight both sets, file cut, tapered, concave rib, 99% blue, mirror bores both sets, 2 3/4" chambers both sets -barrels fit tight on breech face and hinge pin, both sets, like a new gun should Action- -engraving as described above and shown in photos -Holland and Holland style sidelock -perfect untouched screws -top lever sightly right of center -ejectors strong and well timed -articulated (hinged) front trigger -finish and condition of metal is flawless -delightfully crisp trigger pulls measuring 3lbs. front, 4lbs. rear -sideplates slightly rounded -perfect metal to metal fit with invisible seams on trigger plate and sideplates Stocks- -exhibition quality Turkish walnut with perfect wood to metal fit -14 7/8" x 1 1/2" x 2 1/4" x 1/8" cast off.
