BEAUTIFUL 1961 BELGIAN BROWNING AUTO-5 A5 SWEET SIXTEEN 16 GAUGE 25.5
Description: This Browning Auto-5 was manufactured by FNH of Belgium for Browning in 1961, it is in excellent 95+% condition and probably one of the nicest ones we've seen in a long time. The Browning Auto-5 or A5 was manufactured by FNH of Belgium from 1952-1976, the Belgian Made Auto-5's are regarded as some of the best firearms ever produced for Browning. The action is smooth as glass and as soon as you feel it you'll know why these guns are so highly regarded. Bluing is nearly perfect and takes on a deep plum hue that is complemented by the light blonde colored European walnut stock and forend. This particular shotgun was probably used as someone's occasional field gun, it shows very light signs of use. There are a couple light handling marks on the wood but the metal is nearly perfect. There would appear to have been a recoil pad added to this firearm but it's length of pull is still 14.25". The only real flaw that can be seen is a hair line crack in the rear underside of the forend. This crack is merely cosmetic and doesn't affect the function or fit of the forend (please refer to pictures). Pictures best describe this firearm for exactly what it is and what you will receive! Gauge: 16, 2 3/4" Chamber Barrel - Length: 25.5" Ventilated Rib, Choke: MODIFIED Furniture - Hand Checkered European Walnut, High Gloss Finish Metal - All Steel Construction High Polish Deep Bluing with Engraving Length of Pull: 14.25" The Browning Automatic 5, most often Auto-5 or simply A5, is a recoil-operated semi-automatic shotgun designed by John Browning. It was one of the very first successful semi-automatic shotgun designs, and was produced from 1902 until 1998. Designed by John Browning in 1898 and patented in 1900, it was produced continually for almost 100 years and is regarded as one of the most successful auto-loading shotguns of all time. It features a distinctive high rear end, earning it the nickname "Humpback". The top of the action goes straight back on a level with the barrel before cutting down sharply towards the buttstock. The name of the shotgun came from the fact that it is an auto-loader with a capacity of five rounds, four in the magazine and one in the chamber. Shipping to lower 48 only!
