BROWNING AUTO-5, 16 GAUGE SHOTGUN, SOLID RIB, MADE in 1953
SALE PENDING
Description: Very Clean, Well Maintained, Browning 16 Gauge Auto-5 Belgium made shotgun. This one was made in 1953, making it 72 years old, as I write this. It has that great soft velvety rust blue that the older Belgium Brownings are famous for. There is no corrosion on the metal surfaces, and very little bluing wear, except at the sharp edges, and then it is minimal. The shotgun has been used and the reddish Walnut stock shows minor wear and a few small scratches in the finish. The buttstock has had a recoil pad expertly installed. The length of pull is 14.25 inches on my tape. The original owner told me that he added a pad so that the shotgun would not slide when he leaned the shotgun against the wall in his cabin with its smooth wood floor. It is chambered in 16 gauge, 2 3/4", and has a full choke. The barrel sports a nice solid rib with a front bead and has a nice sight picture. The engraving on the receiver is very nice and well done. The action operates smoothly, and feeds and ejects properly. The bore is excellent, bright and shiny. I love to shoot 16 gauge shotguns. Usually, they are a little lighter, but still have less recoil than a 12 gauge. They seem to be increasing in favor and popularity among shotgunners. This one woulld make a fine shooter, and a good hunting companion. Please examine the photos, and contact me with questions. Thanks for looking! Buyer pays Insurance and Shipping costs.
