Description:
Offered here is a true classic—a Belgian-made FN Auto-5 12 Gauge manufactured in 1926, designed by John Browning and produced before the widespread U.S. Browning branding. This early-production Auto-5 is marked “Fabrique Nationale D’Armes de Guerre – Herstal, Belgique” on the receiver and bears correct Belgian proofmarks.
It features a 28" barrel with a fixed full choke and the signature “humpback” long-recoil action that became iconic among sportsmen and collectors alike.
Bluing is very good, with rich color and minimal edge wear. The walnut stock shows attractive grain with expected handling marks and checkering wear. A period-style ventilated recoil pad has been added.
Mechanically, it functions flawlessly. The bore is bright and clean, and the action locks up properly.
This is a fine example of a pre-Browning-import FN Auto-5—ideal for collectors, vintage shooters, or upland enthusiasts who appreciate true 1920s Belgian craftsmanship.
