BROWNING SUPERPOSED 28 Gauge
Description:
Guns Listing ID: 699630
SHOTGUN: BROWNING MODEL SUPERPOSED IMPORTED BY BROWNING ARMS CO., SERIAL NUMBER 567F3, BLUE, CASE NOT INCLUDED, OVER / UNDER, 28 GAUGE, 26.5
Notes:
Browning Superposed over/under shotgun designed by John and Val A. Browning.
This Browning Superposed 28 gauge shotgun was manufactured in 1963. (serial number 567 F3)
This configuration represents the classic, elegant workhorse of the Superposed lineup. In 1963, Grade I shotguns featured a deep, high-quality high-gloss blueing on the receiver and barrels, paired with hand-engraved floral scrollwork borders.
Key Features of a 1963 Grade I 28-Gauge:
The Engraving: The scrollwork on a Grade I is tasteful and minimalist, framing the edges of the receiver without the large, elaborate game scenes or animal figures found on higher tiers.
Stock Style: This model features a rounded pistol grip (Field).
Condition: This shotgun is in pretty good shape given its age. The wood has a few dings (nothing deep) and there are spots on the barrel where the bluing has deteriorated. The butt plate has significant damage with cracks and chips.
The Blue Book of Gun Values puts this item between $6000 and $6250 in 80% condition. It seems like it‚s in better condition than 80%, but we‚re allowing for error.
There are several pictures. They tell the story. This is a rare, sought after collectors item.
