Browning Superposed Over Under Shotgun in 12 Gauge **Belgium Mfg 1968**

Description:
 Here we have a Belgian Browning Superposed over/under shotgun in 12 gauge. Belgian-designed over-and-over shotgun introduced to the United States two years after the Great Depression, in 1931. Despite its original high cost, it was regarded as a fine and valuable weapon by both shooting competitors and hunters. The Superposed introduced a wide variety of innovations including the single select trigger and over-under design. This design was considered revolutionary in the 1930s, but Browning had patents on the design long before that, as far back as 1923. It was the last firearm to be designed by John Browning. This particular example is in good overall condition exhibiting honest wear earned in the field over the last 62 years. The 28" barrel has a good bore, vent rib with bead and mid bead sights, 2 3/4" chambers and is choked Full (top) Mod (bottom). The stock has some spiderwebbing or checking at the surface but no actual cracks (which are common with older Belgian Brownings). The pad appears to be correct and original for the period. The gun has some handling and use marks earned over the years but nothing serious or even close. There is some high edge wear and finsh has worn some on the bottom of the receiver likely from years of carrying in the field. This is a very nice gun that would make a great field gun or addition to a collection.
