Browning Superposed Skeet 20 GA 28in w/.410 & 28ga tube sets 1968 mfg Belgium
Description: The Browning Superposed is John Browning’s classic over/under shotgun design introduced in the 1930s and produced by Fabrique Nationale (FN) in Belgium. The Superposed was built as a high quality, hand fitted sporting shotgun and remained a popular choice for clay target shooting and upland game. This example is dated 1968, a period when some stocks were made from “Saltwood” (Browning's unique process of salt-impregnating wood stocks to prevent warping and moisture damage). The salt also proved to be a beast, often causing rust and corrosion to the metal components of the shotgun. Description 1968 Browning Superposed over/under 20 gauge shotgun. 28″ vented rib barrels choked SKEET / SKEET with a set of additional SKEET sleeves for 28 GA (2) and .410 bore (2) included in the case. White front sight missing the bead and white mid bead on the vented rib. Blued engraved receiver with crisp, distinct engraving; mechanically solid action with single selectable trigger and tang safety/barrel selector. Action was refinished and the stock replaced to address issues related to period “Saltwood” construction — See internal wood surfaces and action photos. Very good checkered grip stock and forearm showing only light wear and handling marks are consistent with honest use and age. Serial: 53330V8. Sprague’s # 158632. Specifications
