1971 Belgian Browning A5 Two Millionth 12ga #250 of 2500 Hand Filled Rib with Ivory Beads and Select Grade Walnut
Description: Up for sale is a great example of these limited production high grade Belgium Browning Auto 5 Shotguns. These were commissioned by Browning in 1970/71 to commemorate the production of the 2,000,000th A-5 shotgun and only 2500 were produced. Each is uniquely numbered, fitted with glossy finish select grade walnut with slightly finer than standard checkering, hand engraved and gold inlaid, and finished in a slightly higher luster blue than the standard production guns. These shotguns in my opinion are often overlooked, a number of these features are quite expensive, time consuming to produce, and usually only found on the highest grade firearms offered by Browning at the time. For example, the only gun offered with a hand filed vent rib was a Midas grade Superposed! This particular example has exceptional wood color and figure, most of these shotguns look very nice but this one is a step above the rest. On top of that it is number 250 of the 2500. The condition is also quite exemplary, there are two small dings in the toe of the stock and a very fine grain separation on the right side of the forearm. Both of these infractions are easily overlooked when examining the gun and it is still an outstanding display piece! The original case and manuals are included and in excellent shape as well. A collector piece through and through! Vintage firearms are a passion of mine.
