GORGEOUS First Year Production FN Belgium Browning Auto-5 A5 Light Twenty Shotgun Mfd 1958 28" Modified
Description: Another “ESTATE” firearm listing brought to you from Dust 2 Dollars who prides themselves on showing the complete gun in high quality pictures along with a detailed description for your consideration. We offer you a “GORGEOUS” First Year Production “FN” Belgium Browning “Auto-5” A5 Light Twenty Shotgun Manufactured in 1958. This Browning is all original and comes from the person who purchased the shotgun new in 1958. It has wears a 28 inch; 27 ½ inch actual length barrel with a 2 ¾” chamber, modified choke, mirror bore and a full matte rib. The finish is in excellent condition with some light wear at the muzzle and a few scattered minor surface marks. The receiver is in excellent condition with just a few very minor marks and shows excellent and very fine engraving. The forearm has one small ding but no chips or cracks and an excellent checkering panel. The butt stock has no cracks, chips or repairs and the checkering panels are also in excellent condition. There are three surface marks as shown in the pictures. They are not deep and you have to hold the gun just right to see them as we have in the picture. The original butt plate shows a small spot of insect appetite as you can see. The left side of the barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY ST LOUIS Mo.” / “**SPECIAL STEEL-20 GAUGE-SHELLS 2 3/4” followed with a row of proof marks. The right side of the barrel is marked “MADE IN BELGIUM”. The left side of the receiver is marked “Twenty / ® / BROWNING” with a bust portrait of John M. Browning, the underside has the serial number. The receiver tangs and trigger guard have tasteful Grade I engraving. The serial number is 8Z4936 which the "8" denotes 1958, the first year the Browning A5 was made in 20 gauge. The “Z” denotes Light Weight and the number “4936” tells us this was the 4,936 one manufactured. Our 63 year old Belgium A5 is in amazing condition and would make an excellent addition to any collection. SPF This will be shipped taken down and fully insured UPS Ground to your FFL for $65.
