Offered here is a great opportunity for collector or shooting enthusiast to acquire a classic Brwoning shotgun. The Browning Light Twelve is a variant of the Browning Auto-5 (A-5) — the first widely successful semi-automatic shotgun  design, created by John M. Browning and produced starting in the early 20th century. The Light Twelve was introduced after World War II as a lighter-weight version of the Auto-5 specifically optimized for 12 gauge field use.
This 1966 Light Twelve was made in Belgium by Fabrique Nationale (FN Herstal) — Browning’s longtime European production partner. Belgian production of these guns generally ran from the late 1940s through 1976 before assembly shifted elsewhere.
These Belgian guns are particularly prized by collectors and shooters alike for their quality steel, fit & finish, and classic styling compared to later imported examples.
The action is Long-recoil, semi-automatic — the original and historically significant Browning recoil system. 12 Gauge & for standard 2 ¾″ shells. The barrel is 26″ with a ventilated rib. The recoil system is known for smooth cycling and reliable operation.  The Light Twelve is lighter than a standard Auto-5 due to selective milling and design tweaks, which improve carry comfort during long hunts.
That lighter weight, combined with the “humpback” receiver profile, gives it a distinctive look and balance that many enthusiasts cherish. Gold plated trigger.  Checkered walnut stock and forend, classic of Belgian Browning craftsmanship.
Fixed choke ( Modified) . The gun’s markings usually include “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY … MADE IN BELGIUM” and “Light Twelve / BROWNING” on the receiver. These guns are both collectable and truly functional field shotguns — attractive as display pieces but also capable hunters/clay guns. Belgian Light Twelves from the mid-1960s carry historic and aesthetic appeal, often bringing higher interest among Browning aficionados vs later imports.
The shotgun retains all original finish, matching parts, crisp markings and clean barrel. The stocks are excellent and the meatl as well with exception of a few use marks and some patina on the underside trigger area. Swe would term this as a 99%+ conditioned Browning.
