BROWNING GRADE VI (PRE MIDAS) 12 GAUGE LIGHTNING - WOOD CASE - BROWNING LETTER
Description:
The Grade VI was added the summer of 1957 and made for appprox. 2 1/2 years through 1959. These guns were highly sought after with a wait time of several months.
All grade VI's had blued receivers with deep relief engraving and bold foliate scroll showning (3) Pheasants on left and (3) Ducks on right all done in 18K gold. Each scene was slightly different on every gun so all grade VI's can be considered one of a kind. Highest grade walnut was used with exquisite checkering cut by the most proficient craftsman. Ribs were hand matted, ejector pins and firing pin tips were gold plated.
Choked F-M, 28" Barrels, 2-3/4" chambers, the Lightning weighed appprox 7lbs 2 oz. LOP 14-1/8", vent rib, round knob, long tang, field forearm and Browning butt plate.
Comes with Exhibition Wood case and Browning letter.
Metal and engraving look new. All woodwork looks in very good to excellent condition.
Bottom barrel choke measures .705 which is slightly towards improved modified. Barrels looks untouched.
