Browning Midas 3" Magnum x 30" Barrels
Description:
The Browning Superposed are hand-fitted shotguns that were made by some of the best craftsman in Europe to Browning's high standard of excellence. And only the best craftsmen and women were allowed to work on these extreme examples of Browning’s finest offering. This wonderful Midas Grade Superposed in 12 ga Magnum is a rare bird being one of only 64 built between 1964-1977. Most of the Midas grade 12 gauge guns encountered are Broadway trap guns, so it's unusual to come across a Magnum hunting gun. It has a serial number of 83365 S8, being built in 1968. It has tight and long shooting 30" barrels with Full/Mod chokes making it a much more desirable gun than a similar gun with Skeet chokes which present a much wider, less dense pattern. This Browning has the most wanted round knob stock with 28 lines per inch, flawless checkering. And all Magnums came from the factory with a Pachmayr Jumbo trap recoil pad marked Browning. It weighs 8lb. 4oz. and is all factory original and still retains 99.9% overall condition. The wood retains the original finish with only the most minor light handling mark on the right side of the forearm near the breach. This gun appears to have never been hunted with and shot very little, if at all. The 18 carat gold engraving was done by hand by some of the best engravers in the world and no two guns are alike, being one of one. This Midas Grade came with highly figured walnut stocks that are truly beautiful. Guns built after 1967 and prior to 1974 had the possibility of salt contamination due to the manner which Browning tried to accelerate their wood curing process. However, this gun shows no tell tail signs of salt problems that would certainly arise 50 years after its production. With the factory 3” chambers and the advancements in non-toxic shot you can use heavy magnum loads. Highly desirable and wonderfully built to last, the value of these high grade Superposed guns continues to skyrocket so there's no better time than the present to buy one.
